Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-08-18

This policy explains what information spothours.com collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to every page on this site.

Who runs this site

spothours.com is operated by Damian Bazzano. For any question about this policy or your data, use the contact form.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, address, or payment details.

Preferences stay on your device

Your final-versus-wholesale choice is stored in your browser using localStorage. It is never transmitted to us, never linked to an identity, and never shared. Clearing your browser data removes it.

If you type your own grid rate into the field on a price page, that number travels in the URL of that one request so the server can recalculate the estimate with it. It is not stored, not logged against you, and not linked to anything. Reload without it and the national typical value returns.

Cookies and advertising

This site does not currently show advertising, and no advertising cookie is set on any page. The intention is to fund it with Google AdSense. If and when that happens, this page and the date above will be updated on the same day, and the paragraphs below will describe what actually runs rather than what is planned.

When advertising is enabled, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before any non-essential cookie is set, and a "Privacy choices" control will appear in the footer to reopen that choice. None of this is running today, because there are no ads to consent to. Analytics currently runs with all storage denied by default in those regions, which means no analytics cookie is set there either.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at google.com/settings/ads, and from many other vendors at youronlinechoices.eu.

Legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interest for security logging and basic aggregate statistics, and on your consent for advertising cookies and any personalised advertising.

How long data is kept

Server logs are retained by Cloudflare for a short period under their own retention policy. We do not maintain a separate database of visitor information. Device preferences persist until you clear them.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because we do not operate visitor accounts, in most cases we hold nothing that identifies you. Use the contact form and we will respond within 30 days.

Third parties

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, and will revise the date shown above.
