Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-18
This policy explains what information spothours.com collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to every page on this site.
Who runs this site
spothours.com is operated by Damian Bazzano. For any question about this policy or your data, use the contact form.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, address, or payment details.
- Standard server logs, kept by our hosting provider Cloudflare: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. These are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse.
- Anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics: which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from at country level.
- Preferences you set yourself, such as whether you prefer final or wholesale prices, or a grid tariff rate you enter manually.
Preferences stay on your device
Any setting you choose is stored in your browser using localStorage. It is never transmitted to us, never linked to an identity, and never shared. Clearing your browser data removes it. If you enter a postcode or your own grid rate to get a more accurate estimate, that value stays on your device.
Cookies and advertising
This site is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set. You can decline, and you can change your choice at any time using the link in the site footer. Declining does not restrict any part of the site.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at google.com/settings/ads, and from many other vendors at youronlinechoices.eu.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interest for security logging and basic aggregate statistics, and on your consent for advertising cookies and any personalised advertising.
How long data is kept
Server logs are retained by Cloudflare for a short period under their own retention policy. We do not maintain a separate database of visitor information. Device preferences persist until you clear them.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because we do not operate visitor accounts, in most cases we hold nothing that identifies you. Use the contact form and we will respond within 30 days.
